Studying Birds

We started our bird study with general information about birds. We spent some time learning, specifically, about penguins.

Our silkworms arrived before our chicken eggs (because of the weather delays) so we learned about silkworm moths right along with the penguins.

After penguins we returned to studying birds in general.  The class learned what you can tell about a bird by just looking at it. What do you know just by observing eyes and beaks, legs and feet, feathers and wings? Why does a hummingbird look so different from an eagle?
