  1. 1.Thinking of how very much the class is enjoying all of the rocks and gemstones that they have been earning for great behavior...

A GREAT place to take kids who love rocks is to the WAMS meetings.

Kary goes on and off, and has for several years (which is how she started working at the Independence Rock and Mineral Show where some of you saw her.)

The club members adore kids...

and many of them give their raffle tickets to the young members...

so kids tend to win raffles at almost every meeting. Kary has a BEAUTIFUL rock collection (that she is sitting here sorting so that I can take new prizes to school!) that she “won” at WAMS meetings.

Membership for kids is $2.50.

In 2010-2011, WAMS started going out to classrooms and taking their rock knowledge to share with classrooms. Call and arrange for someone to come out to your class!
